About Me

Qualifications & accreditation

  • Qualified as a counsellor and psychotherapist at University of East London in 2004.
  • Completed a MA in counselling and psychotherapy in 2009 also at UEL.
  • Completed a Certificate in Person Centred Supervision at the Metanoia Institute in 2012.
  • Accredited and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and hold full professional insurance.

Counselling Experience

In addition to private practice I work for Harnigay Learning Partnership, working with young people in Alternative Provision.

I held the post of Head of Student Wellbeing at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) for seven years, leading a team of eight sessional and placement counsellors.

Prior to that I've worked with clients in a variety of settings:

  • In Primary Care, working with clients referred for counselling by their GP
  • In the voluntary sector including Brook a sexual health service for young people; The Violence Initiative (TVI); West Hampstead Women's Centre and the London Irish Women's Centre
  • In Secondary Education at Woodside High School in Haringay
  • In Higher Education at London Metropolitan University

 

Group Facilitation 

I've facilitated personal development groups for trainee counsellors on the Diploma in Practitioner Counselling at City Lit.
I've also facilitated a mental health support group for Irish Women at West Hampstead Women’s Centre, which ran for seven years.
 

Teaching 

I taught personal development workshops at City Lit, including Assertiveness and Developing Positive Body Image, read more >
